Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon, 23, as the man who lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on the evening of Saturday, May 10, 2025, according to KGET17.
The Bakersfield Police Department reports that the accident took place around 8:50 PM at the intersection of Hughes Lane and Holden Way.
Aragon was a passenger in an SUV that overturned after colliding with another vehicle. Emergency responders found Aragon pinned beneath the overturned vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another male passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to a hospital for further care.
Preliminary findings indicate the SUV was traveling south on Hughes Lane and attempting to turn east onto Holden Way when it was struck by a northbound vehicle, leading to a broadside collision that caused the SUV to roll over.
Authorities stated that speed is not suspected to have played a role, but investigators are examining the possibility of alcohol or drug involvement pending toxicology results. The collision remains under active investigation.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one in a traffic accident is devastating, and the pain can be made worse by the financial strain that often follows. Medical bills, funeral costs, and the loss of income to support dependents of the deceased can leave families struggling. Filing a Wrongful Death claim against those responsible can provide compensation to help with these expenses.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming.
A skilled personal injury attorney can help families pursue proper compensation for their loss by handling these legal complexities and negotiating with insurance companies, who always try to reduce payouts on claims they cannot deny.
