Fatal Crash with Farm Equipment on Hwy 120, Sexton Rd near Escalon in San Joaquin County

San Joaquin County, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 7, 2025, a head-on collision involving agricultural equipment left one person dead and three others seriously injured, according to ABC10.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the crash took place around 4:00 PM on Highway 120 near Sexton Road.

A Toyota Highlander was traveling westbound when it crossed over the centerline into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a Hay Squeeze, a piece of farming equipment, that was traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Highlander was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two juvenile passengers in the vehicle sustained major injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Hay Squeeze also suffered major injuries.

Highway 120 was closed in both directions at Sexton Road for several hours, with traffic being diverted at Brennan Road and Van Allen Road. Authorities advised motorists to seek alternate routes while the scene was cleared and examined.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Personal Injury Claims

When the actions of reckless drivers cause others to be injured, the cost of recovery should not fall on their victims. Filing a Personal Injury Claim with the at-fault party’s insurance can provide compensation for medical bills and lost wages during recovery.

Passenger Liability

Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming.

A skilled personal injury attorney can help families pursue proper compensation for their loss by handling these legal complexities and negotiating with insurance companies, who always try to reduce payouts on claims they cannot deny.
