Young Girl, 8, Injured in Pedestrian Crash at Metz Rd, Cabernet Dr in Soledad

Soledad, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 9, 2025, a child was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle, according to KSBW.

The Soledad Police Department reports that the accident took place around 3:30 PM near the intersection of Metz Road and Cabernet Drive.

According to police, an 8-year-old girl ran into oncoming traffic and was hit by a passing vehicle. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and, as a precaution, requested an air ambulance for transport. A landing zone was established in a nearby field adjacent to Hartnell College.

The girl was flown to a hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released. No additional injuries were reported, and authorities have not indicated whether the driver was cited or detained.

The area was temporarily closed while police investigated the incident. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
