April 3, 2025, Bakersfield, CA: One person was tragically killed in a head-on collision involving a big rig in Bakersfield on Thursday morning.
The accident, according to information provided by Bakersfield Now, happened around 4:09 a.m. on Highway 395 near the area of Hoffman Road. Police confirmed that a semi-truck and a sedan collided head-on in the southbound lanes due to reasons that are not yet known.
One person was tragically pronounced dead on scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anybody else was hurt at this time.
All southbound lanes of traffic were blocked for some time following the accident until police cleared the scene.
