March 25, 2025, Lompoc, CA: An accident involving a big rig took place on a Lompoc highway on Tuesday night.
The accident, according to information provided by KSBY, happened around 10:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 101. Police confirmed that a motor vehicle and a big rig were traveling on the highway when they were involved in the collision, causing the car to become lodged underneath the big rig.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was able to get out of the vehicle on their own. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The driver of the truck remained on scene and was not hurt.
There was a diesel leak due to the accident, which caused delays for some time.
