Fatal Crash on Hwy 113 near Hay Rd, Dixon in Solano County

Solano County, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, March 25, 2025, a head-on collision on Highway 113 left a 63-year-old man dead and another driver with serious injuries, according to CBS13.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident took place around 7:43 PM near Hay Road, south of Dixon.

Emergency responders arrived to find two vehicles involved in a severe head-on collision. Both vehicles were occupied only by their respective drivers.

The 63-year-old driver, identified as a resident of Rio Vista, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 24-year-old man from Dixon, sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Law enforcement officials suspect that the younger driver may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.

The highway was temporarily closed in both directions between Fry and Hay roads as emergency personnel worked at the scene. It was fully reopened at 11:29 PM.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the California Highway Patrol’s Solano-area office.
