March 6, 2025, Ripon, CA: A woman tragically lost her life in a suspected DUI crash on a highway in Ripon on Thursday evening.
The accident, according to information provided by KCRA, occurred around 10:26 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 just north of Jack Tone Road. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling north on the highway in a pickup truck when he collided with a big rig and an SUV.
The driver of the SUV, identified as a 63-year-old woman from Stockton, was severely injured in the crash. She was rushed to the hospital but was tragically pronounced dead while there. The driver of the big rig, as well as the 35-year-old male driver of the pickup truck, sustained injuries in the crash.
Police confirmed that the Manteca pickup truck driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash. They have not revealed if he is being charged for his role in the collision.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation at this time.
