December 13, 2024, Merced, CA: A man was killed in a fatal bicycle accident that took place at an intersection in Merced on Friday evening.
According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the accident happened around 9:15 p.m. at 23rdStreet and Glen Avenue. Police confirmed that a bicyclist was traveling parallel to a vehicle in the Glen Avenue area. The vehicle came to a stop and the cyclist continued into the intersection, where they were struck by a second vehicle turning northbound at the intersection.
Officers and paramedics arrived on scene, where they found the bicyclist on the roadway. They were tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries.
Merced Police Department officials continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
