December 6, 2024, Turlock, CA: On Friday, a pedestrian tragically lost their life in a fatal collision that took place on a Turlock highway.
The accident, according to information provided by Bakersfield Now, took place around 6:09 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 just north of Highway 166. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling south in a 2021 GMC Yukon SUV around 75 miles per hour when they crashed into a pedestrian on the road. The driver told police that they were unable to avoid the accident.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead on scene as a result of their injuries. Nobody else was allegedly injured in the collision.
