Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Del Monte Avenue in Monterey

September 20, 2024, Monterey, CA: On Friday night, a pedestrian was tragically killed in an accident that took place at an intersection in Monterey.

According to information provided by Kion News Channel, the accident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Del Monte Avenue and Calle Principal. A pickup truck driver was traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with a pedestrian who was walking in the crosswalk at the time. The driver came to a stop and remained on scene following the accident.

The pedestrian, identified as a 65-year-old woman from Minnesota, sustained major injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center. She was tragically pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 23-year-old man, was not hurt.

No further details have been released. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crash at this time.
