August 8, 2024, Lodi, CA: On Thursday afternoon, a fatality was reported following a big rig accident that took place on a Lodi highway.
According to Lodi News, the collision happened around 12:08 p.m. on Highway 12 around the area of Guard Road and Terminous. California Highway Patrol found that a big rig was involved in an accident with a Ford pickup truck due to reasons that remain under investigation. The big rig was on fire following the accident with all of its tires blown and a missing front axle due to the severity of the collision.
Though the parties have not yet been identified, one person was tragically pronounced dead on scene. It is not yet known if any other parties were injured.
The roadway was completely blocked by both vehicles and debris following the crash. It took over an hour for police to clear the scene so traffic could resume in the area.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
