A woman was rushed to the hospital after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver in Fresno Friday afternoon. KSEE-TV reported the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. in the area of South Maple Avenue and East Kings Canyon Road east of downtown Fresno on January 15, 2021.
Fresno Police say the woman was traveling across the intersection with a man when a passing vehicle hit them both. The woman was thrown forward by the impact. She was taken to the hospital with major injuries. She’s reported to be in critical condition. The man suffered less serious injuries.
Investigators say the driver left the scene, but contacted authorities about 30 minutes later to take responsibility. The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
