DUI Wrong Way Driver Dangers on Highway 1 in Monterey CA

Traveling in the early morning hours on Highway 1 encourages most safe drivers to pay extra attention to what other motorists are doing. Other drivers can get drowsy or get distracted by a cell phone and suddenly enter the path of other vehicles. Drivers can also get behind the wheel while impaired and present dangers to other people on the road that they may not be able to anticipate.

Impaired judgment might leave one driver crossing a yellow line or proceeding down a highway in the wrong direction. Drivers may have little chance to avoid a collision and life-threatening injuries.

Support for Families After a Tragic DUI-Related Accident

Nothing can replace the love and care of a family member taken in a tragic car accident. Yet, families can need urgent support after a deadly collision, so they don’t get unfairly saddled with enormous debt stemming from someone else’s mistake.

Close relatives can face the high costs of paying for a funeral and burial and emergency services fees. They’ll also have to find a way to cover these bills after losing the financial support a loved one may have provided through income from a job.

When the drivers to blame are charged with DUI, they’ll be facing criminal charges. However, the families of deceased victims don’t have to wait on the outcome of a trial to receive support. Their civil wrongful death claim can move forward independently of any criminal proceedings. This will hopefully allow close relatives like a spouse and children of the victim to secure money as quickly as possible to help them avoid a financial crisis now and in the future.
