Newport Beach Police responded to the scene sometime around 3:55 p.m. They determined that a man on a scooter had been hit by a vehicle. The Newport Beach Fire Department rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. His injuries were said to be significant. The last update on the victim came on Tuesday Afternoon. Officials said the patient was still receiving treatment at that point.
The driver involved remained on the scene to cooperate with police officers. Investigators are asking anyone who has information about the tragic crash to call the Newport Beach Police Department.
