Sacramento, CA — On the morning of Friday, November 6, 2026, a woman lost her life in a two-vehicle collision, according to FOX40.
At approximately 6:15 AM, both the California Highway Patrol and Sacramento Police Department responded to a crash on northbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 22nd Avenue, in the South City Farms area of southern Sacramento.
According to investigators, the two vehicles involved in the fatal accident were a white SUV driven by a woman and a gray SUV driven by a man.
The gray SUV was traveling behind the white SUV and struck the driver’s side of the vehicle while attempting to pass on the left when the white SUV was turning left, possibly to make a U-turn.
The impact threw the driver of the white SUV into the passenger’s seat and left her with fatal injuries. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The man driving the gray SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Further details regarding the fatal crash have not yet been released, including the identities of the two drivers and whether or not driver impairment from drugs or alcohol played a role. The investigation is ongoing.
California Car Accidents and Wrongful Death Claims
When someone’s life is lost and the negligence of another party is responsible, they should be the ones to bear the cost. If the driver of the gray SUV is found to have acted negligently, the family of the woman who was driving the white SUV may have grounds for a wrongful death claim.
While no amount of money can make up for the loss of a loved one, a wrongful death claim can provide compensation for damages such as funeral expenses and the loss of support and companionship provided by the deceased. If the driver of the white SUV is also found to have acted negligently, any settlement may be reduced, but her family would not be barred from receiving partial compensation.
