Stockton Car Accidents: Wrongful Death Claims and Personal Injury Claims
California law operates on the principle of comparative negligence, which holds that responsibility for an accident can be shared among those involved. Investigators examine crash site evidence and take witness statements to assign different degrees of fault. Even if a party is considered more than 50% responsible for an accident, it may still be possible to seek partial compensation.
Dupree’s family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim, which can help to recover damages such as funeral expenses and the loss of support and companionship provided by the deceased. Those injured in the other vehicle may also have grounds for personal injury claims, which can provide compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages related to the accident.
