Shafter, CA — In the early hours of Saturday, October 24, 2026, a single-vehicle rollover collision resulted in two men losing their lives, according to KGET.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the fatal accident took place around 1:32 AM west of Scaroni Avenue on West Lerdo Highway in a rural area of Shafter.
According to investigators, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound, driven by a Shafter man, with another Shafter man as his passenger. For reasons yet to be determined, the driver of the Silverado appeared to lose control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and rolled over on the north shoulder.
The impact launched the Shafter men from the vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced both dead at the scene.
Investigators have not yet determined whether driver impairment from either alcohol or drugs played a role. This is an ongoing investigation.
