October 13, 2026, Merced, CA: A big rig accident with major injuries took place at a Merced intersection on Tuesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 4:46 a.m. at the intersection of Belcher Avenue and SR-59. Police confirmed that a big rig mixing truck and a black Toyota Camry collided with each other at the intersection, leading to extensive damages. The sedan was left with major front-end damage.
The driver of the Toyota was trapped inside their vehicle following the accident. Upon removal, they had a broken leg. They were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
