San Francisco, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, September 28, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of an 80-year-old man, marking the city’s 13th pedestrian fatality of 2026, according to KRON.
The San Francisco Police Department reports that the accident took place around 2:08 PM at Anza Street and Arguello Boulevard in San Francisco’s Richmond District.
Authorities said the man was struck by a tow truck while crossing the street. Officers rendered aid, and paramedics transported him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit is leading the investigation.
No arrests have been made in relation to this fatal accident, and the investigation remains active.
