Hayward, CA – On the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of Monira Loka Abdulshahid Botros, 73, of Hayward, according to KRON.
The Hayward Police Department reports that the accident took place just before 11:00 AM near Kelly Street and Bayview Avenue.
Authorities said officers responded to find Botros suffering critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The driver, a 48-year-old Hayward man, remained at the scene and provided a statement, cooperating with the investigation. The Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau formally identified Botros following her death.
Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
