Manteca, CA – In the early hours of Friday, September 18, 2026, a pedestrian hit-and-run resulted in the death of a 73-year-old Manteca woman, according to KCRA.
The Manteca Police Department reports that the accident took place around 5:49 AM in the 800 block of West Lathrop Road.
Authorities said the woman was walking home from church when she was struck by a vehicle. A witness reported that the driver got out of the vehicle before driving away. The woman was transported to the hospital, where she died from her injuries. Police said she did not appear to have been in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
