Fresno, CA – On the morning of Monday, September 28, 2026, a rear-end collision resulted in the deaths of Diego Garcia Tepec, 56, of Fresno, and Juan Ortega Juarez, 57, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 8:00 AM on Lincoln Avenue.
Authorities said Garcia Tepec was driving a Nissan Sentra with Ortega Juarez in the passenger seat when a Honda Civic rear-ended them. Both Garcia Tepec and Ortega Juarez died as a result of the crash.
The driver of the Honda was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office formally identified both victims later that same day. Ortega Juarez’s town of origin has not been disclosed. No further information about the crash had been officially released. This is an ongoing investigation.
