San Francisco, CA – On the morning of Thursday, September 17, 2026, a boating collision resulted in the death of Daniel Zhengyu Qin, 35, of San Jose, and left two others hospitalized with life-threatening injuries beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, according to KRON.

Authorities said Qin was one of three people aboard a 25-foot fishing vessel that struck rocks and began capsizing. The other two occupants remain hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and their identities and conditions have not been updated.
