San Jose, CA – On the morning of Friday, September 25, 2026, a bicyclist collision resulted in a woman losing her life, marking the city’s 37th traffic fatality of 2026, according to KRON.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:15 AM at Capitol Expressway and Ocala Avenue, a wide, heavily traveled expressway intersection on the city’s east side.
Authorities said a man driving a white 2017 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling through the intersection on a green light when the truck struck the woman, who was riding a bicycle. As a result of the impact, she sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The bicyclist’s name had not been released at the time of reporting.
