Shafter, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, a collision between a vehicle and a pocket bike resulted in the death of Andres Gomez Osornio, 15, of Shafter, according to KBAK.
The Shafter Police Department reports that the accident took place around 9:05 PM at South Shafter Avenue and West Riverside Street.
Authorities said Gomez Osornio was riding a pocket bike when it collided with a vehicle. He died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office formally identified him following his death.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors. The investigation remains ongoing.
