San Francisco, CA – On the morning of Friday, August 7, 2026, a collision involving an electric scooter resulted in the death of Yebin Kim, 32, of San Francisco, according to KRON.
The San Francisco Police Department reports that the accident took place around 8:18 AM on Market Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets.
Authorities said Kim was riding an electric scooter along Market Street when she collided with a commercial truck. As a result of the impact, she suffered severe head trauma.
Responding paramedics arrived on scene and attempted life-saving efforts. However, despite their life-saving efforts, Kim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, the driver of the truck was located and has been cooperating with investigators throughout the process.
Police are working to determine what led up to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
