Elk Grove, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, August 18, 2026, a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man, according to KCRA.
The Elk Grove Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:14 PM near Lewis Stein Road, Stockton Boulevard, and Dracut Road.
Authorities said a Honda CR-V was facing northbound on Lewis Stein Road in the left-turn lane to go west onto Dracut Road, while the motorcyclist was facing southbound on Lewis Stein Road in the right-turn lane to also go west on Dracut Road.
As the Honda began turning, the motorcyclist reportedly continued straight despite being in the turning lane, and the two vehicles collided. As a result of the impact, the motorcycle came to rest underneath the right front tire of the Honda, and the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Road closures were put in place on Lewis Stein Road between Big Horn Boulevard and Sheldon Road, and on West Stockton Boulevard between Atkins Court and Michener Way.
The identity of the deceased had not been fully released beyond his age at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
