Modesto, CA – On the evening of Saturday, August 8, 2026, a collision between an SUV and an e-bike resulted in the death of Mark Jenkins, 32, of Modesto, according to FOX40.
The Modesto Police Department reports that the accident took place at the intersection of Roseburg Avenue and Tully Road.
Authorities said Jenkins was riding an e-bike eastbound on Roseburg Avenue within the traffic lane when he entered the Tully Road intersection during a red light. An SUV traveling northbound on Tully Road then struck him. Jenkins sustained fatal injuries as a result.
Responding officers arrived, but the life-saving efforts of emergency responders were unable to revive Jenkins. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the crash and has been cooperating with authorities. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office formally identified Jenkins following his death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
