Vacaville, CA – In the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2026, a hit-and-run left scooter rider Scott Goss, 57, injured, according to KCRA.
The Vacaville Police Department reports that the accident took place around 2:30 AM on Alamo Drive.
Authorities said Goss was riding a scooter southbound on Alamo Drive toward a 7-Eleven when a vehicle struck him from behind, dragging him before leaving him in the roadway. Investigators noted that the driver appeared to have gone up onto the curb during the collision.
Goss was found in the roadway next to his scooter and was transported to a hospital with moderate injuries, including road rash severe enough to shred his clothing. He has since undergone surgery on his foot, and doctors are evaluating whether a second surgery on his wrist will be needed.
Goss’s brother, Randall, said his brother was able to call 911 himself despite his injuries, and that three or four vehicles passed by without stopping to help while he lay in the roadway. The driver fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information.
Vacaville Police and the Goss family are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area that night to come forward. Police can be reached at 707-449-5286. Investigators are reviewing footage from intersection cameras and a Flock Safety camera in the area, which they hope will assist in identifying the driver. The investigation remains ongoing.
