Fresno County DUI Accidents and Personal Injury Claims

California law prohibits driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and requires all drivers to maintain proper lane discipline. When a suspected impaired driver travels the wrong way and causes a fatal head-on collision, that driver’s estate may be considered to have committed negligence per se, increasing its share of liability for the resulting death and injuries.

The family of the driver who died may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim, while the driver of the Ford F-150 may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim. These claims can provide compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages related to the accident.
