San Jose, CA – On the morning of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Ari Green, 50, of San Jose, was fatally struck by a vehicle while repairing a streetlight, according to KRON.
Correction: Previous reporting referred to this fatal incident as a workplace accident, instead of a traffic collision in a work zone.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:29 AM near Hillsdale Avenue and Narvaez Avenue.
Authorities said Ari Green, 50, of San Jose, was working in the raised bucket of a parked white 2022 Ford F-550 bucket truck along the north curb when a westbound white 2018 Isuzu box truck struck the parked vehicle. As a result of the impact, Green sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the box truck and an adult male passenger remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officers. The incident marks San Jose’s 30th traffic-related fatality of the year. It remains under investigation by the San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit.
