Fresno County, CA – On the evening of Monday, July 27, 2026, a suspected DUI collision resulted in two people being airlifted with major injuries and a third hospitalized, and led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Kingsburg man, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 9:30 PM at Brawley and Manning Avenues.
Authorities said the Kingsburg man was driving a blue Jeep Cherokee southbound on Brawley Avenue when he ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of a black Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on Manning Avenue. The Fusion carried three adults from Caruthers.
Two passengers sustained major injuries, including one who suffered a broken leg, and were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Fusion was transported by ambulance with minor injuries. The driver of the Cherokee sustained minor injuries.
Investigators determined the Kingsburg man was driving under the influence and arrested him on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. The investigation remains ongoing.
