Sutter County, CA – On Thursday, July 23, 2026, a three-vehicle collision left a family of six and another driver injured after a minivan went into a nearby body of water, according to ABC10.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place on Riego Road near Pacific Avenue.
Authorities said a Honda Odyssey traveling eastbound on Riego Road sideswiped a semi-truck traveling westbound. The Odyssey driver then lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna carrying a family of six. The impact caused the Toyota Sienna to leave the roadway and go into a nearby body of water.
The Toyota Sienna driver, the father of the family, sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The other occupants, including children, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Honda Odyssey was also injured, though the extent of those injuries was unknown at the time of reporting.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.
