Salinas, CA – On the evening of Sunday, July 26, 2026, a suspected DUI multi-vehicle collision resulting from a driver running a red light left seven people injured, including children, and led to charges against Oscar Fraga, 40, according to KSBW.
The Salinas Police Department reports that the accident took place at the intersection of Boronda Road and North Main Street.
Authorities said Fraga allegedly ran a red light, causing the multi-vehicle crash. Seven people, including children, were injured, and all were expected to survive.
Police said Fraga allegedly assaulted a man at a nearby taco truck shortly before the collision. He is being investigated on suspicion of driving on a suspended license, driving under the influence, battery, felony evading, and a separate DUI in connection with the incident. Investigators suspect Fraga was under the influence at the time of the crash and are awaiting further evidence to confirm.
