Fresno, CA – On the evening of Wednesday, July 2, 2026, a hit-and-run collision resulted in the death of motorcyclist Marvin Johnson, 30, of Fresno, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place just after 9:00 PM at the intersection of Dakota and Fruit Avenues.
Authorities said Johnson was riding his motorcycle westbound on Dakota Avenue when a silver SUV traveling eastbound made a left turn toward Fruit Avenue and struck him. Both Johnson and the driver of the SUV had a green light at the time of the collision. The driver fled northbound on Fruit Avenue without stopping.
Johnson was found lying in the middle of the intersection and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified him following his death.
The intersection of Dakota and Fruit Avenues was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver SUV with front-end damage, last seen traveling northbound on Fruit Avenue.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established by the family to assist with funeral expenses and to celebrate Johnson’s life. The investigation remains ongoing.
