Lamont, CA – Just before midnight on Sunday, July 26, 2026, a pedestrian hit-and-run resulted in the death of Julio Armando Figueroa, 26, of Bakersfield, according to KGET.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 11:55 PM at the intersection of Di Giorgio Road and May Street.
Authorities said Figueroa was walking westbound on the right shoulder of the road when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office formally identified him following his death. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Di Giorgio Road, though no description was available at the time of reporting.
