Solano County, CA – On the morning of Friday, July 31, 2026, a head-on collision resulted in the deaths of three people, according to KCRA, with additional reporting from CHP Fatal.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place around 6:35 AM on State Route 113 just north of Hay Road, south of Dixon.
Authorities said a red Chevrolet pickup truck was speeding and crossed into the opposing lanes attempting to pass other vehicles when it collided head-on with a gray Dodge pickup truck. Prior to the head-on collision, the red pickup sideswiped a big rig, whose driver was not injured.
The driver and passenger of the red pickup died, and fire personnel confirmed the driver of the gray pickup also died. A third vehicle, a blue truck, was involved without injury to its occupant, who pulled to the right shoulder. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist.
A SigAlert was issued closing all lanes of State Route 113 north of Hay Road in both directions, with an unknown estimated time of opening. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office was notified to respond in its capacity as coroner.
Two flatbed tows were requested for the pickup trucks, both of which sustained major front-end damage. The roadway was reopened at approximately 10:16 AM.
The identities of the three victims had not been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.
