Sanger, CA – In the early hours of Thursday, July 23, 2026, a pedestrian hit-and-run resulted in a man losing his life on Academy Avenue, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The Sanger Police Department reports that the accident took place around 5:30 AM on Academy Avenue between Fourth Street and Fifth Street.
Authorities said officers responded to a report of a person lying in the roadway and found the man with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. He later died. The driver left the scene, and investigators are treating the incident as a fatal hit-and-run collision.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information, surveillance video, or dash camera footage is encouraged to contact the Sanger Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
