San Mateo County Bicycle Accidents and Wrongful Death Claims

California law requires all drivers to operate their vehicles at a safe speed appropriate to road conditions, particularly on curves where reduced visibility and control demand extra caution. When a driver traveling at excessive speed loses control and strikes a bicyclist, that driver may be considered to have committed negligence per se, increasing their share of liability in the collision.

Regardless of the findings of the investigation, Solovsky’s family may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. A wrongful death claim can provide the family with compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, loss of consortium, and other damages related to the fatal accident.
