June 18, 2026, Bakersfield, CA: Major injuries were reported in a big rig accident that took place on a highway in Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon.
According to Bakersfield Now, the accident happened at 6:10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-5 around the area of Grapevine. Police confirmed that a big rig truck and a white sports car were involved in a collision due to reasons that are still being investigated. The accident led to extensive damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called on-scene following the crash. One person suffered major injuries as a result of the accident and was hospitalized.
Traffic was delayed in the area for some time. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
