Electric Motorcycle Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run at 17th Ave, Hanford-Armona Rd in Kings County

Kings County, CA – On the evening of Sunday, June 14, 2026, an electric motorcycle hit-and-run left a youth seriously injured, according to ABC30.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place shortly after 9:00 PM at 17th Avenue and Hanford-Armona Road.

Authorities said the youth was riding an off-highway electric motorcycle northbound on 17th Avenue when a dark-colored sedan traveling in the same direction approached from behind.

For reasons still under investigation, the sedan collided with the rear of the electric motorcycle. The impact ejected the rider, who sustained major injuries and was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the sedan left the scene without stopping to render aid or provide information to law enforcement. Investigators believe the suspect vehicle continued westbound on Lacey Boulevard after leaving the scene. The sedan is described as dark-colored with damage to its right front bumper.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol. The investigation remains ongoing.

Ongoing Investigations

Victims of traffic accidents and their families should be aware that authorities may fail to note or even misinterpret critical evidence at a crash site. One of the services that a Personal Injury Attorney can provide is to pursue follow-up investigations, which can reveal additional evidence to correct any errors made by previous investigators.

Hit-and-Runs and Wrongful Death Claims

The compensation provided by a wrongful death claim can financially support families grieving the loss of a loved one due to another person’s negligence. These funds can go toward hospital bills, burial expenses, and help support any dependents of the deceased.

In cases where the at-fault party escapes justice, families may still be able to pursue compensation through their own uninsured driver coverage. A personal injury attorney can offer guidance on what options they may have available and negotiate with insurance companies to ensure that victims receive the best settlement possible.
