Simi Valley, CA – On the afternoon of Monday, June 29, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in a 79-year-old Agoura Hills woman losing her life outside a shopping center cafe, according to KTLA.
The Simi Valley Police Department reports that the accident took place around 2:30 PM at 51 Tierra Rejada Road.
Authorities said the driver of a white Tesla appears to have lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb, and struck the woman as she was walking on the sidewalk outside Urbane Cafe at a Target shopping center. The vehicle continued into planters outside the cafe before coming to rest in the middle of the outdoor dining area.
The female pedestrian sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a Thousand Oaks resident, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Los Robles Hospital. One of three children inside the Tesla was also transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Three other victims at the scene were treated for minor injuries.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the crash. The identity of the deceased had not been publicly released at the time of reporting.
