Two Injured in Crash at Hwy 160, Sherman Island Rd in Sacramento County

Sacramento County, CA – On the afternoon of Thursday, April 30, 2026, a collision left two men hospitalized, one with major injuries, according to KCRA.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place at Highway 160 and Sherman Island Road in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Authorities said one of the men sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital by helicopter. The second man sustained moderate injuries and was also transported for treatment. The roadway was reported open at the time of reporting.

No additional details regarding the circumstances of the collision or the identities of those involved had been released at the time of reporting. The investigation remains ongoing.

According to the Sacramento Audubon Society, the accident took place in a remote and sparsely traveled stretch of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in Sacramento County.
