Fresno, CA – On the evening of Friday, May 1, 2026, a vehicle-versus-moped collision resulted in the death of Dominiq Puentes, 13, of Fresno, and left a 12-year-old passenger in critical condition, according to FOX26.
The Fresno Police Department reports that the accident took place around 10:40 PM at the intersection of Bullard and Palm Avenues.
Authorities said a white truck traveling eastbound on Bullard Avenue collided with a moped at the intersection. Puentes, who was the lead rider on the moped, was pronounced dead at the scene despite medical care provided by responding officers.
The 12-year-old passenger remained hospitalized in critical condition at the time of reporting. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified Puentes following the crash.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Authorities determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
