Fresno, CA – On the evening of Thursday, May 7, 2026, a rear-end collision left a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer hospitalized, according to ABC30.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place on the southbound Highway 99 and Highway 180 interchange.
Authorities said the officer had slowed to assist a disabled vehicle on the side of the road when a vehicle approaching from behind struck the officer’s motorcycle, throwing him from the bike.
The officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Investigators have not yet determined whether driving under the influence was a contributing factor in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
Personal Injury Claims
After a traffic accident, victims and their families often deal with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs. A personal injury claim allows accident victims to hold the at-fault party financially responsible for their costs of care.
