San Jose, CA – On the morning of Saturday, April 12, 2026, a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of an elderly woman, according to KRON.
The San Jose Police Department reports that the accident took place around 7:05 AM in the first block of North Ninth Street.
Authorities said a man driving a 2010 Toyota was attempting to park when he accidentally engaged the vehicle in reverse at a high rate of speed. The vehicle departed the roadway and struck a concrete wall.
The elderly woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. Her identity had not been released at the time of reporting.
The collision marked the 13th fatal crash in San Jose in 2026. The investigation remains ongoing.
Passenger Liability
Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a wrongful death claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming. As a neutral third party, an experienced personal injury attorney can help navigate these emotional complexities.
