Fresno, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 29, 2026, a workplace incident resulted in the death of Gurpreet Singh, 21, of Fresno, at a trucking repair yard, according to KSEE/KGPE.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident took place around 4:00 PM near Belmont and Lafayette Avenues.
Authorities said Singh was in the process of hooking up a big rig to a trailer when he was pinned between the two vehicles. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, where Singh was pronounced dead. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office formally identified him on Thursday following the incident.
Due to the incident occurring on private property and being classified as an industrial collision, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health will handle the investigation.
