Fresno County, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, a suspected DUI collision resulted in the death of Misty Lynn, 34, of Squaw Valley, and left three others hospitalized, according to the Fresno Bee.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place on Highway 180 near Dunlap Road, east of Fresno near Dunlap.

Authorities said a 41-year-old man was driving on Highway 180 when his vehicle crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision. The force of the impact sent the second vehicle off the road and approximately 30 feet down the mountainside.

Lynn, who was driving the second vehicle, was killed in the crash. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified her on Thursday.

Two children, both under the age of five and properly secured in child safety seats, were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. The 41-year-old driver sustained major injuries and was also hospitalized for treatment. He was subsequently arrested based on a preliminary investigation finding that the collision is believed to have involved drugs.

Highway 180 was temporarily closed while emergency personnel responded and investigators processed the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
