Suspected DUI Crash on Hwy 180 near Dunlap Rd in Fresno County Kills 1 Adult, Injures 3 Including Children

Fresno County, CA – On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, a suspected DUI collision resulted in the death of a woman and left two children and another adult hospitalized near Yokuts Valley, according to KSEE/KGPE.

The California Highway Patrol reports that the accident took place on Highway 180 near Dunlap Road.

Authorities said that, for unknown reasons, a Tesla crossed over the center line and struck a Kia nearly head-on. The force of the impact sent the Kia down an embankment, where the woman driving was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Tesla, a front passenger, and two children under the age of five were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Tesla was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Wrongful Death Claims

Even if a fatal accident doesn’t lead to criminal charges, families who lose a loved one can still file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide support to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income.

Passenger Liability

Driver liability insurance covers both those outside the vehicle and passengers inside. While it can be emotionally difficult to file a Personal Injury claim against someone close to the victim, the financial challenges after an accident can be overwhelming. As a neutral third party, an experienced personal injury attorney can help navigate these emotional complexities.
