Pedestrian Crash at Vineyard Ave, 6th St Kills Madera Man, 66

Madera, CA – On the evening of Saturday, March 14, 2026, a pedestrian collision resulted in the death of a 66-year-old Madera resident, according to KSEE/KGPE.

The Madera Police Department reports that the accident took place around 6:50 PM at Vineyard Avenue and 6th Street.

Authorities said a driver traveling eastbound on 6th Street briefly stopped at the stop sign at Vineyard Avenue before continuing through the intersection. At the same time, a pedestrian was walking northbound in the west crosswalk, and the vehicle struck the individual as it proceeded through the intersection.

Officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene and provided life-saving measures, but the 66-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators at the time of reporting.

Authorities have asked anyone with additional information regarding the collision to contact the Madera Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
